In 2013 his oneshot Majigumo wa Zettai Ame gained popularity and started serialization under the new name of Setoutsumi. In 2014 he was nominated for the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award Readers Award along with famous works such as Deaf Kata Yowamushi Pedal and Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi. The story which unfolds in the same place with only the same two people talking has since been made into a movie and a drama and has become a big hit. In 2019 he started fullscale activities as a screenwriter with movies dramas and Hulu original stories. Currently he is making use of his unique authorship to expand his activities into areas other than manga. He also participates in P.I.C.S. management since 2018.
