This review probably contains spoilers. it doesnt Ah yes. Romance anime. You either hate it or love it. Personally Im a proud romance anime glazer so I suppose HEY GUYS Re:Zero reference its time for me to yap about the peak in this anime. The anime continues to follow the central idea that our protagonist Rentarou is an absolute chad expanding his harem which consists of a comedically archetypal tsundere kuudere erodere and dandere... Yeah you get the point lads. One hundred girlfriends... and one young man. All ages all heights all sizes. Lets be honest: about 99 out of 100 people who watch this anime long to be Rentarou. Even me it is terrifyingly sad how alone and companionless a young male such as myself is of course I yearn to be just like our absolute chad M.C. However I have a question for you. Do you really think its that easy? Do you really think you can care for 100 girlfriends with nothing but yourself? HELL THE FUCK NO. Unless you have some insane mutation that makes you grow multiple arms multiple legs anduhhh you knowthings to please each one of them I have no doubt in my mind that youd falter under all the endless pressure and tribulation required to keep all of them in meaningful thriving and successful relationships. Hell even 1 girlfriend was way too much for me... Yeah Im not going to stress how lame my love life is or how lame I am but lets just say I couldnt be bothered after three weeks of souldraining meaningless calls where we just sat in silence. So uh the moral of the story: dont date an ABG. The amount of respect our absolute GOAT needs has GOT to be studied. Juggling his school life and his mindnumbingly egregiously draining love life is so insane that a standing ovation would be negligible compared to the breathtaking and aweinspiring amount of praise he probably already gets from his intense lovesmothering girlfriends on a daily basis. That praise is probably like the size of a quark compared to the universe of respect he deserves. Rentarou is the perfect man. Hes breathtakingly attractive and charismatic heh I guess you could say hes got unmatched rizz and is incredibly devoted to saving these damsels in distress. I mean you cant make this shit up. If being the epitome of husband material were a crime hed be locked up for life and left to rot until he was a skeletonnot just in the crust but deep down in the mantle marinated in the mineralrich and girlfriendrich earth for millions of years. But of course M.C. isnt going to back down. Whatever trials he faces somehow his innate powersprobably inherited from Sung Jinwookick in just to let him spend one more second with his mindbreakingly diverse and cute lineup of girls. I mean if he even heard me call them a lineup of girls hed probably kill me. They arent just a lineup of girls for him to use. Theyre all unique universeshatteringly beautiful and impoverished of blandness or tackiness. Each one of them is an absolute masterpiece requiring an immense amount of attentionnot just for their beauty but for their quirks personalities and simply... what makes them them. Yes Ive learned from you oh draining young lady. They all deserve one man for each and every one of themselves And well Rentarou is that 100man army. He contains that 100man strength. He is a PSL GOD. HE IS THE MOST EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT MAN I HAVE EVER SEEN. Id go as far as to give him 10/10 SMV sexual market value. He doesnt need money. He doesnt need fame. Hes the selfembodiment of pure unadulterated breeding material. He just needs to be himself. He is exquisitely crafted by GOD to be two words: THAT DUDE Yes this is a reference to one of my favourite YouTubers.. Feel free to guess who it is. He isnt a woman magnet for no reason... No no. This guy is the flawless shoulder to lean on. He gives emotional consolation to all the girls he is destined to be companions with. He isnt just a brainless loser like other anime protagonists. This is a true MAN. The role model every single little boy needs. He goes above and beyond to make sure the girls dont even COME CLOSE to thinking about breaking up with him. He eats sleeps flirts kisses and consolesall at the split second he is specially manufactured to do so. And he does way more almost enragingly how many brainzappingly overthetop things he does to not only satisfy the girls but also fill them with terrifying levels of happiness and joy. Now youre probably thinking Yo when the FUCK will this corny mf stop yapping about the MC? Well I guess youre lucky because if this was all my review was Id probably ban myself from making reviews for the rest of my life. So lets move on from my WELLDESERVED UNDOUBTEDLY UNERRING AND VERACIOUS GLAZE for the GOATED main character we call Rentarou. Yes I used Google for those words. Other than saying nothing but pulchritudinous mindshattering EXTRATERRESTRIAL BEAUTY. This animation is not just eye candyits an entire feast. The art style feels both fresh and familiar. Its cute kawaii and straightup hot. But its not just superficial. This anime isnt like Solo Levelling where youre left with all flash and no substance. The design of the girls is so appealing it hurts to look atbecause you crave to be Rentarou. The colours are vibrant complementing the MOENESS of the anime. The exaggerated blushes the overthetop emotionsall flawlessly executed. Seriously shoutout to Bibury Animation Studio for this masterpiece. And while were on the topic of animation we need to talk about the fan service. Lets be real theres a 99 out of 100 chance youre going to get a boner every episode. But let me explain: Is it your fault? Nah. The fan service is genuinely that good. Its not the usual repetitive clich of Oh I accidentally walked in on a girl changing Nah this fan service is unique and fits perfectly with the absurdity of Rentarous situation. The kiss scenes? Theyre to die for. The sexual tension? Its palpable. Rentarou pulls a girl in for a kiss and you can feel the intensity. My GOAT Hahari with that devastatingly comforting MOMMY PERSONALITY? Damn Im feeling lonely just typing this. This isnt just about titillation... Absolutely FUCKING NOT. Actually its part of the absurd humour that works so well with the animes style. Rentarou is in one of the most mindbogglingly ridiculous yet oddly real situations Ive ever seen in anime. Its not just some mindless shounen where the main character destroys everything in his path. Its not the monotonous boring schoollife anime either despite Rentarou still being in school. In fact a large portion of the anime happens outside the classroom. This sets it apart from the usual selfinsert boy and cute anime girls dynamic that relies heavily on school life. Its refreshing to see an anime where the main character isnt a timid embarrassing loser. Rentarous not afraid to step up and be a manand honestly thats something a lot of romance anime protagonists lack. There isnt any need to explain the comedy of an anime because in my opinion stressing the comedic value of a piece of fiction can actually be counterintuitive for people who are aiming to view the anime. Watch it for yourself. Its good enough to at least warrant a viewing from you. This also goes for the soundtracks because im complete dogshit at analysing songs... But all Im going to say is that it fits the anime to a T. Its cutesy upbeat and exactly what you would expect from this anime. And how about we go ahead and stress how amazing the archetypes are... THE ARCHETYPES ARE SO WELL DONE. In order to match the tone of the whole entire series I believe that the characters personalities are SUPERCHARGED. What do I mean by this? Well you dont see a tsundere every day that is this cute but also this DAMN SHARP AT THE SAME TIME. Karane is strong beautiful and pretty intelligent too. But shes got a mouth on her and a massive attitude. However that cant help her hide her secret cute side. Its almost laughable how roided the personalities of the girlfriends are. Be it Eiai Nano some people literally think she is A ROBOT due to how calculating smart and efficient she is. Or Shizuka so timid she cant even speak without using a book or her damn phone I swear its this damn phone for the youth smh smh smh Or goddamn Hahari just THE MOST OVERBEARINGLY HORNY MOTHER I THINK I HAVE EVER LAID MY EYES ON. Also lets talk about the substance of this anime. The criticism this anime mellowly yet sharply conveys is absolutely beautiful. It challenges the idea that the ideal man is nonchalant. Because loverboys are simply just better. The normalised thought that masculinity is some roidedup guy who doesnt care about women is just so boring I could die. In summary this anime offers everything youd want if youre into overthetop fan service wild character dynamics and ridiculous but surprisingly witty humour. Rentarou is the walking incarnation of emotional intelligence and charisma and while the show is admittedly absurd its hard not to love it. If youre into romance anime or just want a good time watching a guy juggle the impossible this anime is for you. Give it a shot and watch Rentarou show you exactly why hes THAT DUDE.
