Hello Kitty From Apple Forest to Parallel Town or as I prefer to call it Hello Kitty Parallel Town which not only is shorter but is also the actual title used in the Italian dub is the third part of the socalled Apple Forest Trilogy a trilogy of Hello Kitty shows that feature a common link which is the presence of a magical amulet that allows Kitty and her sister Mimmy to teleport in a place known as the Apple Forest where many other characters live. However this is the only chapter of the saga that is NOT set in the Apple Forest except for the first episode. Due to a mishap Kitty and Mimmy split up into a misterious place known as the Tangled Woods and then Kitty finds herself alone into the titular Parallel Town which is implied to be a parallel world version of the London where Kitty usually lives which is inhabited entirely by fairies. Here Kitty and also a few minor characters from the trilogy such as the Apple Fairy Pururu and the ineffectual villain duo of the Momonga Brothers meets up with a local girl Emily and joins her circle of friends. However theres where the actual villain of the show appears: Akuro who appears to be an evil version of Kitty herself who has been sent to make the entire world pitch black for her master Makkuro who appears in person later on but to make it short hes a big newtlike creature. The plot goes on very fluidly with the introduction of Emilys friend Linda who is convinced to join Makkuros side and later on even gets an evil transformation/powerup into a purplehaired gothic lolitathemed villain. I appreciate that design so much its probably the main reason I love this show. However it turns out that Akuro is actually Mimmy who was also brainwashed and turned evil by Makkuro. The series ends kinda predictably with both Linda and Mimmy becoming good once more and Makkuro being defeated and sent away. As per tradition with the Apple Forest Trilogy this show also ends with a bonus episode completely unrelated to the main plot where Kitty comes back once more and finds the Momonga Brothers doing something strange: in this case they made their takoyaki stand a subplot that was already started midway through the show and are forcing Emily Linda and Helena a character I forgot to mention but its a kinda important side character she works in her grandmas tea house which acts as the main meeting point for the characters in the show to work as their waitresses/idols against their will. At the end this is your average anime aired at preschool kids but I like it for some of its character designs. There are also a few subplots here and there that are a bit hit or miss Emily and Lindas job as models Helenas crush for a football player Emilys aunt who works as a detective and helps briefly in the search for the lost Mimmy two of Kittys friends ending up in Parallel Town for a brief period and need to be brought back home...
