Kill the Hero is the story of KimWoojin who gets betrayed and killed by his guild master Sejun Lee the supposed Hero. Woojin then regresses and has a new goal to kill his former friend/boss Sejun Lee. The story at first sounds interesting. I am a huge sucker for the OP Main Character/Revenge Plotline. Usually these kinds of stories are meant to appeal to the monkey side of your brain and just be pure entertainment unfortunately Kill the Hero does not do that. The setting and characters are boring. It is a pretty standard world that many manhwa have done before with slight alterations here and there. The manhwa doesnt do anything interesting and the whole story is extremely forgettable. With this style of Manhwa I expected there to be lots of fun/visually impressive action with beautiful panels and amazing choreography kind of like the stuff in Solo Leveling or Doom Breaker. There unfortunately was none of that. Story 3/10 The story is honestly really bad. It starts boring and then towards the latter half of the Manhwa the story suddenly takes a 180 and starts rushing to reach the end. The story suffers from major pacing problems. Parts of the story that should be focused on as they are pretty interesting are skimmed over and stuff that isnt as interesting are heavily focused on. It was genuinely such a chore to get through since the story felt like it was being written by literal children. I get that these types of stories are supposed to be enjoyable trash but damn at least give me some cool action scenes or at least create some tension in the story that evicts some type of emotion in me other than boredom. I also think that the ending blows ass. The whole manhwa is essentially building up towards the final fight between the MC and the villain and the MC kills him in literally 2 chapters. It didnt even seem like a huge annoyance to him thats how easy it was for the MC. He finished him off like hes some side boss but he isnt hes the main boss. Another problem with the story is that it is one of those manhwas that you have to read consistently every single day. It isnt one of those manhwas that you can drop for a month and then pick up again as the story is incredibly forgettable and you will be scratching your head trying to remember what happened in the previous chapters as everything that happens is super uninteresting and easy to forget. Art 5/10 The art in the Manhwa is not bad just average. There is nothing super impressive or amazing that just makes your eyes pop out. Although I do have to give props to the fact that this Manhwa is colored. I do appreciate coloring in manhwa since these are supposed to be dropped weakly and it has to be hard to drop colored chapters weekly and I respect the grind. Characters: 3/10 The characters arent anything crazy. The antagonist of this story SejunLee was severely underused. We barely see him do anything during the manhwa. The MC is a selfinsert character kind of like Kirito. He doesnt have much going on hes a completely blank slate. The supporting characters are super forgettable. They all had one quirk like one of them liked to eat and that was it. Enjoyment: 2/10 I did not enjoy reading this Manhwa at all. I was bored throughout the entire time reading this. And there were many times that I just wanted to drop this and move on. I wasnt invested at all in anything that was going on and I remember just wanting the Manhwa to end. Overall Kill the Hero was a huge chore for me to get through. I would suggest you guys not to read. I dont think there is anybody who could possibly enjoy this one. There is way better Manhwa out there to consume and this one is nothing but a waste of time.
