Romance manga is a unique genre because its a place for all types of audiences to be comforted in different ways. There are subgenres inside to add more spice to viewers too from the psychological nature of Love is War the disgusting nature of Domestic Girlfriend The Absurdity of Rentagirlfriend and keeping it as wholesome as Horimiya. While these series are pretty iconic in the manga world most of them have already ended and most mangas right now are either starting up a series thats basically a rehash of another series which makes reading it a chore or a current series that drags itself too much. There arent many romance mangas that can replace the highs of the previews amazing romance mangas but one manga shines brighter and it could be even brighter with even more exposure than it deserves placing on the same spot next to the modern classic romance mangas and that manga is The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity. This manga starts off as your usual delinquent boy meets studious girl but the manga diverts your expectations by subverting the tropes these kinds of storylines usually get. The main guy Rintarou is a calmhearted individual who experienced moments in his early life deep in pessimism and the main girl Kaoruku who sees the kindness within Rintarou. The division of these individuals both figuratively and literally had started to close the gap as both characters became closer and closer. The main storyline on both of our main characters is some of the most genuinemade smartly driven and wholesome. Each arc makes sense for the story and it doesnt drag itself out but still having that grip of irresistible urge to keep reading because of how engaging the characters in the manga are. This stretches further from the side characters in the series from Rintarous group of friends who are some of the most charming and endearing characters in the manga with their unique personalities that enhance the funness the series has already emitted to Kaorukus friends who you might need a little adjustment to like but they are already fun enough to read. Some of the side characters such as Subaru and Ayato who on the surface are just side characters for our main character but the manga dedicates enough time to spend with them and explore their own little world and struggles without ruining the essence of the series. Overall the entire manga is an irresistibly cute wholesome series that never fails to make you smile and gets you addictively reading through the entire chapter and possibly rereading due to its irresistible cuteness. The progression and the romance feel natural and the friend group has a lot of chemistry together mixed in with its sliceoflife elements. This is bound to be the most relatable and realistic romance manga out there tackling topics that are relevant to adolescence and a romance that doesnt drag but naturally progresses and falls into its right places. This manga deserves its utmost praise that would hopefully lead to a slow ascend of being a modern classic romance manga putting its fragrant flower high and mighty screaming with the utmost dignity.
