Summary This is a very short and when I say short I mean it its quite literally 2 chapters long yet that was all it needed. I will elaborate on this later. This entire review will be full of spoilers tbe manga is simply too short to mark certain points as spoilers. If you dont want to be spoiled then read the manga it literally takes 5 minutes to read thats how short it is. The premise of the manga follows a young blind girl who lives in a small shack in the middle of the woods. The series starts off by showing that she lives with a beast that pretends to be human by using a decapitated mans body as a puppet. Originally we can gather that the girl is under the illusion that she is living a normal life with a normal man considering that she is blind she would not be able to see the beast. However it is quickly revealed that the girl knows of the beasts existence within her shack. She tries to appease the beast as much as possible by pretending that she is under the illusion that is mentioned before. At one stage she even gifted the beast a ribbon in the attempt to gain the liking of the beast and to keep it happy. She contemplates killing the beast but gives up on the idea quickly after contemplating her situation as she is blind and frail also noting that many experienced hunters have also failed in killing the beast losing their life to it. Eventually the girl decides that she can no longer take the stress and fear of living with the beast and decides to run out into the forest alone in the attempt to find people to help her. As she runs she fears that the beast is chasing her to come and kill her However shortly after running into the woods she unknowingly encounters a group of wolves in which she get attacked by. Shortly after this happens the beast covers the girl allowing the wolves to attack it instead of her. The beast howls scaring away the rest of the wolves. The girl finally accepts the beast as a friend rather than an enemy as the manga closes with the beast hugging the girl. Emotion I couldnt have imagined that such a short series had so much to offer I normally dont feel many emotions while reading a series beyond mild excitement in hype moments in certain series however this series had me feeling genuine sadness and a certain amount of hapiness. I really couldnt have predicted such an outcome. Art The art isnt anything special but that doesnt mean its bad its extremely detailed and doesnt miss a beat really captures the emotion in the story. Final Verdict I call this a masterpiece although the story isnt as complex as a series like homunculus or alice in borderland it doesnt need to be. Personally I consider this manga to be perfect. This is a must read and it doesnt take long to read it took me about 5 times as long to make this review than it did for me to read the series. This series is a 10 out of 10 must read.
