Knife Edge Girl / Graffiti / Torte Fromage is a trio of oneshot stories about young yuri love. Put plainly youve probably read manga like this before if you have any interest in F/F relationships at all from any angle but while they dont do a ton to break the usual mold all three are very wellmade and each either individually or in tandem is guaranteed to bring some warm fuzzies to your heart.
Knife Edge Girl is contrary to its dangerful title the story of a student about to take an important exam and her maybegirlfriend a hardworking lass with her own car. The two have an adorable dynamic and bounce off each other well over the course of the story leading to a conclusion that Ill not spoil but nearly made me aww aloud.
Graffiti is the most unique of the three. Centering around two studentsone a fulltime day student the other who attends classes part time at nightwho sit in the same desk at their school. They communicate via doodles on their desk and despite the odd circumstance of their meeting. The relationship when it does blossom comes so naturally and believably that its almost hard to believe that its not based off of real events.
Torte Fromage is the palette cleanser of sorts. This story about an officeworker who meets and falls for an indie theater actor is a bit quicker in pacing and has less oomph than the prior two but its still cute and provides a nice finish after having read the other two.
Finally there are two short extras. One where the Knife Edge Girl couple reunite and we get some closure on an unresolved plot point at the end of that story and another where the three casts meet and advertise the book. Its nothing mindblowing but its a fun little excursion that really rounds out the experience.
If you like yuri youll find a lot to love in these three oneshots. Theyre pleasantly free of hackneyed attempts at realism tonedeaf issuetackling or soap opera melodramatics anyone looking for some sugary girls love sweetness can read these with ease. I do hope the author dips their hand into the genre more in the future.
