Considerations This is a spoilerfree review. 80+ in my rating means really good. Ive got to read this work on a friends recommendation. I didnt look too much into the synopsis and just started reading. The Story Prison City: A city that houses all prisoners. Once youre in you will never get out. Prisoners who realize theyre stuck forever create families of their own and the population continues to grow within the lawless city. Chloe a young girl lives alone with her baby brother. Now she has to fight for their lives in the midst of anarchy. The story of A soloist in the cage is really good I honestly wasnt expecting something this good because dystopian worlds are often overused within the media. Luckily for me and maybe for you the story of this manga is very unique and while it has a lot of action and violence it still manages to pack some good drama. The Art Style The art style is absurd Its been a real while since I read something with such impactful art. As the work is very dark and cruel theres a good emphasis on darker shots and environments. Chloe her baby brother her neighbors and friends. Characters are not overly developed besides Chloe and her brother but since this is a short work and isnt focused on the drama thats not a bad point. I feel like what were presented with is enough to support the series without leaving doubts. As I always like to talk about the main character Chloe was a really good main character. She gives the vibe of a comfortable shy and lovable character until she needs to flip the switch. Thats a common device for storytelling but I personally enjoy it. Conclusion If youre like me you skip everything and read only the conclusion because you dont want to get spoiled with other themes. So I will try to be brief on this point: Read it. A soloist in the cage is a really good manga. The art combat story and characters really shine in this work. Its one of those short mangas that you read and get that feeling of Why havent I seen this sooner?
