Yuzu the Pet Vet is a very good manga. Its educational very charming and has great artwork.
It might be a little bit too dark for younger children but as long as you heed the 8+ rating it should be fine to let your kids read if you are a parent. This manga is even good for older people not everyone knows how to properly care for animals as its not something they teach you in school and unlike some other childrens media it doesnt talk down to the reader and and underestimate childrens intelligence.
The plots are good and can teach you a lot about caring for animals as well as other lessons and the new characters in each chapter are interesting and memorable. I like the character development Yuzu gets starting out being afraid of animals and end up growing out of that fear due to her time caring for animals. This manga also really pulls on the heartstrings sometimes there were even points when I a seventeen year old nearly cried while reading.
The artwork is amazing the fact that its all done traditionally instead of digitally like most modern manga can invoke a feeling of nostalgia in older readers I know it did for me. The animals look very cute which is quite important in a manga thats all about them. The humans are very well drawn too and have very good designs.
Its a perfect contender for becoming an anime in my opinion an episode for each chapter. With seven volumes that would be about twentyeight episodes a good amount for a childrens anime although it would be a bit on the shorter side. I think the stories and character designs of this manga would work perfectly in animated form.
This manga really spoke to me as a person who really cares about animals and cares about pets getting the proper care that they need. I think this manga teaches very good and important things some things that even adults dont know. The proper way to care for your furry feathery or even scaly friends is very important subject to me and this manga does a very good job of teaching that subject as well as being entertaining to read. Im very glad that theres a manga that teaches important stuff like this.
Overall just a very good childrens manga very adorable I highly recommend reading it or buying it for your children if there are any parents reading this review I could see it inspiring them to become veterinarians in the future. I even recommend parents reading it themselves as I see a lot of adults ignorant of how to properly care for their animals and simply trusting what the untrained pet store worker tells them. Although this manga is in no way a replacement for proper research into how to properly care for your pets.
