Animation: I want to start with this first since its my biggest issue with the anime. There is no animation. Its nonexistent. Its Queen Bee level of animation. Actually thatd be too big of an insult even for Queen Bee. Id go as far as to say its worse. And were talking about a show produced by Netflix the biggest streaming site in the world. Its an insult to animators to call something like this an anime. All the effort animators such as Arifumi Imai Keiichiro Watanabe Yutaka Nakamura riooo Norio Matsumoto have to put is insane. Then there is this joke of an anime which looks like it took less than a week to make. JC Staff and Netflix should stay away from anime. I seriously dont know how you can come up with such an idea and be like This slideshow is going to work. Its gonna please them. You cant get any lazier than this. Sound: The music wasnt really bad for a comedy but its not good either. Its average. The best thing about this show is the voice acting. Tatsus voice is exactly how I imagined it in my head when reading the source material. Kenjirou Tsuda did an excellent job. He made the show bearable. This adaptation didnt deserve someone as amazing as him. Plot: There isnt really much plot here so dont go in the show expecting to find something serious or deep. Its just a former yakuza doing dumb things which are fun to watch/read. I can see how some people could get bored of the comedy since it uses the same jokes a lot but I personally enjoy them and dont think Ill ever get bored of them. Characters: Our main character is great and really fun to watch. Hell always find a way to make you burst out laughing. The rest of the cast isnt bad either but Tatsu is the one that stands out the most. Id suggest the manga over the anime since the facial expressions still look better in the manga which are important for the jokes and Gokushufudos artstyle works better in the black and white format. Ill give this a 4/10. You might be wondering why since I praised a lot of aspects of it. This is supposed to be an anime but it is simply not one. Its just a colored version of the manga but with voice acting. Kenjirou Tsuda is the only redeeming thing about Gokushufudos anime. Something like this doesnt deserve anything higher. Its unfortunate. Everyone including me was looking forward to it. Another anime with wasted potential. Thank you for reading my complaints.
